  • 1.5 kg of garden apples a mix of tart and sweet varieties work best
  • 500 g of sugar adjust based on the sweetness of your apples and personal preference
  • Zest and juice of one lemon
  • 1.5 tablespoons of cinnamon the heart of autumn flavors
  • 1 tablespoon of freshly grated ginger for that subtle kick
  • 1 tablespoon of ground nutmeg warm and aromatic
  • 1/2 cup of water

Final Boiling:

The Plate Test:

  • To check its readiness, drop a bit of the jam onto a cold plate. Swipe your finger through it. If the line holds without the jam running back into it, it's ready!

Jar It Up:

  • Sterilize your jars by boiling them. Pour the jam into the jars while it's still hot, seal them tight, and let them cool to room temperature.
